sustainability practices

Our nappies are one of the most environmentally friendly nappies available. They are manufactured in a production facility where 95% of all production waste is recycled. The packaging is recyclable and the core of the nappy is biodegradable. We also email invoices, newsletters, parent handbooks, policies and procedures rather than printing them to save paper.

At Bambini we feel strongly about the environment and reducing our impact on the earth. Redcycle recycling bins are located at our Brighton centres. We collect used plastic bags, which are then recycled into a variety of sustainable products such as sand boxes, play equipment and park benches.

Families are often asked to bring in recycled materials for home. One of our groups is collecting recycled milk bottles so that the children can construct an igloo. This is an ongoing project during 2015 which will involve all the children and parents.

Every year our centres undertake a project. The 2014 project, Big Earth Little Me built a sense of responsibility for caring for our environment as we investigated water conservation, recycling and gardening. We have a garden where we grow our own vegetables and herbs that the children take care of, and we use these items in the food preparation for the children where possible.

To save paper we email menus, invoices, weekly room reflections, parent handbooks, policies and procedure documentation and all enrolment material.
