current projects

At Bambini Early Learning Centres the educators, children and their families embark each year on an annual project. These projects are inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach in Early Childhood.

The centres investigate a topic, which has been chosen to inspire and challenge. The project is the same for each of the centres, encouraging the educators from each centre to collaborate, communicate and discuss ideas and experiences with each other.

Each project lasts for at least six months and becomes the focus and central catalyst for all of the children’s curriculum. Children work in small groups with their peers and educators.

During this time, the educators document the learning, which has occurred and it is compiled to create a project book which is then given to each family to commemorate the annual project.

The topics of the projects are chosen by the Principal of the centres and are based around the following:

  • Current news topics from around the world
  • Socio-cultural ideas
  • Our Australian history
  • Indigenous Culture
  • Community
  • Family
  • The Environment
  • Sustainability practices
  • Emotional and well being
  • World Peace and mindfulness practices
  • Animals and all living things
